Happy Endings - Scooby

Staffies need love too… Scooby living it large!

"When we first meet Scooby, he was everywhere. Jumping up on the table, the worktops, and us... Our first days with him have been amazing, he’s certainly a character... You may wonder why I’ve wrote this little piece, let me tell you then. There is a perception out there that Staffies are not the nicest of dogs, that they can be nasty... Treat a dog with love, respect and understanding and that is what you will get back out of them by the bucket load... Staffies need love and a home as much as every other dog, don’t just walk past them." Declan & Tracy

Unfortunately we are not legally allowed to take in stray dogs off the street.
If you find a stray dog you should...

  • Firstly, check if it has any identification which may allow you to contact the owner to return it.
  • If not, walk around the neighbourhood asking if anyone recognises the dog and may know where it comes from.
  • If you are unable to find the owner you should contact the Scarborough council dog warden during normal office hours (8.30-5.00, Mon-Fri) on 01723 232535 or outside office hours on 01723 351558.

Dogs are taken in from the Dog Wardens throughout the area when
they are due to be destroyed. We also take dogs from private homes.

  • We operate a non - destruction policy
  • We are run purely by volunteers
  • This year we expect to rehome more than 150 dogs

We cover the Whitby-Scarborough-Bridlington-Pickering-Malton area.
